Share your UGLIEST-looking but best-tasting healthy meal
I'm tired of Instagram nutrition. Every "healthy meal" on my feed looks like it was art-directed for a magazine cover — perfectly plated, color-coordinated, drizzled with things I don't even own.
My actual dinners look like something a raccoon would reject. But they TASTE amazing and they hit my macros.
Drop your ugliest wins. The meal that you'd never post on social media but you'd eat 5 nights a week if nobody was watching.
Ground turkey, microwaved spinach, rice, mashed together in a bowl, drowned in sriracha. Looks like brown slop. Tastes like heaven. 45g protein, ready in 8 minutes, costs $3. I've eaten this 4 times a week for 2 years.
Canned tuna + cottage cheese + everything bagel seasoning + hot sauce, eaten straight out of the bowl. Horrible to look at. Incredible. 40g of protein. My husband leaves the room when I make it.
Frozen mixed vegetables microwaved, half a rotisserie chicken torn off by hand, olive oil, salt, eaten standing at the counter. Looks like a meal from a sad divorced dad in a movie. Macros are perfect. Takes 4 minutes.
The "sad divorced dad" comparison KILLED me. This thread is already the best thing I've seen all week.
Sweet potato microwaved until it splits, torn open, stuffed with whatever protein leftover is in the fridge (shredded chicken, tuna, ground beef, black beans), topped with salsa and whatever hot sauce I have. Ugly because the sweet potato is never evenly cooked and the toppings spill everywhere. Tastes unreal.
Greek yogurt + peanut butter + honey + granola + sliced banana, all mixed together until it looks like gray pudding. My husband thinks I eat cement for breakfast. It's 38g protein, tastes like dessert.
